Clear choices about browser storage

Image files and processing jobs are never saved in cookies. Optional analytics only starts after your permission.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small pieces of information stored by a website or a permitted service in your browser. Similar technologies, including browser local storage, can remember preferences or support measurement across page visits.

ImageOptimise keeps essential preference storage separate from optional analytics. We do not store selected image files, image previews, filenames or image-processing batches in cookies or local storage.

Temporary image-processing sessions

Image tools use temporary browser memory and local object URLs while your current tab is open. These resources support previews, processing and downloads without sending your images to an ImageOptimise upload endpoint.

Clearing the batch, refreshing the page or closing the tab ends the active processing session. Downloaded files remain wherever you or your browser choose to save them.

Essential consent preference

When you accept or decline optional analytics, ImageOptimise may save that decision in your browser using the local-storage entry imageoptimise-analytics-consent.

  • Provider: ImageOptimise.com.
  • Purpose: Remember whether optional analytics was accepted or declined.
  • Contents: A simple consent decision, not an image, filename or processing result.
  • Duration: Until you reset your preference or clear your browser's stored website data.

Optional Google Analytics cookies

Google Analytics helps us understand page visits, general engagement and which tools or guides are useful. It is loaded only after you choose Allow analytics.

  • Possible cookie names: _ga and related Google Analytics property cookies such as _ga_*.
  • Provider: Google.
  • Purpose: Distinguish website visits and understand overall website usage.
  • Duration: Determined by the active Google Analytics configuration and your browser settings.

Our current configuration does not grant advertising storage, advertising personalisation or Google advertising signals.

Optional Microsoft Clarity cookies

Microsoft Clarity helps us understand page interaction, clicks, scrolling and usability. It may create session recordings when optional analytics has been allowed. Image-processing workspaces are explicitly masked to protect content such as filenames, previews and generated results.

  • Possible cookie names: _clck and _clsk.
  • Provider: Microsoft Clarity.
  • Purpose: Recognise visits and connect page activity within a Clarity session.
  • Duration: Determined by Microsoft's current service configuration and your browser settings.

Advertising-related consent is not granted by our current Clarity configuration. Additional third-party cookie behaviour can depend on browser restrictions and the provider's current settings.

Consent and your right to decline

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity do not load until you allow optional analytics. If you decline, the image tools remain available and browser-based image processing continues to work.

Optional consent is not a condition of using ImageOptimise. Your decision can be changed at any time.

Change your analytics choice

The button below removes the saved preference, attempts to clear applicable first-party analytics cookies and asks for your decision again. Cookies controlled directly by a third party may also need to be managed through your browser settings.

Advertising and social tracking

Advertising networks, advertising cookies and Meta Pixel are not active in this release. If advertising or additional tracking is introduced, the relevant notices and consent controls will be updated before those services are enabled.

Search verification and browser controls

Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster ownership verification help confirm website ownership and do not upload your selected images. You can inspect, block or delete cookies and stored website data through your browser's privacy settings.
